Apartment Living in Arnold, Missouri

As the largest city in Jefferson County, Missouri, Arnold offers a wide variety of activities that attract one of the most diverse resident demographics in the St. Louis area. With a 2010 census population barely above 20,000 residents, Arnold exudes small time country charm sprinkled with a little bit of high-energy urban nightlife. New parents, retired couples and single professionals all flock to Arnold to escape the stress caused by crowded city living.

Founded about 10 miles due south of the St. Louis city limits, Arnold has emerged as one of the fastest growing suburban cities in the St. Louis area. A highly reputable school district and increasing commercial development have changed what St. Louis area residents once considered a sleepy little town into one of the most bustling cities in the St. Louis area.

Arnold’s convenient location right next to Interstate 55 means you need little time to travel from the hub of Jefferson County to downtown St. Louis.
Arnold residents travel into St. Louis city and county to enjoy museums and other cultural amenities. However, the city hosts numerous annual events that rival events put on by larger St. Louis suburbs. For example, Arnold’s 4th of July celebration presents one of largest firework displays in the region.

Arnold hosts several shopping centers that promote the entrepreneurial, friendly customer service spirit of small businesses. However, two rivers define the characteristics of this southern St. Louis suburb. Both the Mississippi and Meramec Rivers offer Arnold residents and tourists the chance to participate in a full range of popular water recreational activities.

Bike lanes, ample pedestrian sidewalks, and cheap public parking define the transportation features of Arnold.  Amazingly, not one social or government venue charges for parking.  The bike paths meander through the dense wooded areas that cover most of Jefferson County.  Cyclists can pick up their groceries at Schnuck’s and travel home on one of the bike paths that connect city neighborhoods.
